This is seriously awesome. Your left thumb will want to quit, but your right middle finger will hit ENTER out of defiance for "just one more round" of this challenging\/addicting arcade game packed full of pop culture good times. An insane about of references that are really cool to see voxelized and an addictive game mechanic that makes you want to keep playing and reach the end!. I love this game, classic, totally chill but intense too.. Fantastic flashback of the 80's when I was a kid sitting on the floor playing Paper Boy on the NES.Great game, nicely made and fairly addicting.. A love letter to the 80s. It's basically the game mechanics of Paper Boy (dodge\/jump stuff and throw things to mailboxes..) except your character is pretty much a depiction of a skateboarding, vest-wearing Marty Mcfly. If you grew up during the 80s you will recognize many of the characters that waltz by in the background, from Inspector Gadget, Duck Tales, TMNT, He-Man, Peewee Herman, Rocky, Eddie Murphy, etc... each with their own funny sound effects as they pass. The sound effects of the game are a particular standout, and have an appropriately lo-fi sound to them which resembles audio of games back during this era. It's a very straightfoward game with limited features, but if you're feeling nostalgic and want a trip down memory lane for the 80s and many of the movies and animated kids' shows of the time, this easily fits the bill.. I love this game, classic, totally chill but intense too.. So, The Videokid, really cool game. Would highly recommend it-- especially for the small price tag. The premise is simple enough and the excecution is done quite well. The game is making you through almost what I would consider a rail arcade game where you have to deliver as many videos as possible while also making your way to your girlfriend. The score attack part of the game keeps you on your toes while the incentive to collect money also for skins and tricks makes sure there is a benchmark for how good you are getting. The design of the level is ingenious, with plenty of nostalgic references to make sure you keep grinning as you go along. The secret level is cool as well. Overall, the game is fantastic, my only knock on it being that the loading times are "too long" for a game that is all about failing and repeating. (Too long as compared to super hexagon that is almost instantaneous). Appart from that, definately buy it if you get the chance.
